Feb. 10: We have two more rib sales this year. The first was Feb. 6 & 7, Super Bowl weekend. The next rib sale is scheduled for Memorial Day weekend, May 22 & 23 and the last sale will be Columbus Day weekend, Oct. 9 & 10. We will be selling gun raffle tickets at the October rib sale. Drawing will be during the annual Harvest Festival at the First Baptist Church of Holt Oct. 31.

Feb. 6: We are selling two support vehicles that are no longer in use: A 2003 Ford Explorer and a 1999 Ford ambulance. These are being sold "AS IS." Neither vehicle is operational. Deadline for sealed bids is March 2. Bids will be opened at the March 10 commissioners meeting held at 6 p.m. Mail all bids to Holt Fire District, PO Box 226, Holt, FL 32564. Include name, phone number and amount of bid. If bidding on both vehicles, the two bids can be enclosed in the same envelope. Winning bids will be notified by phone. Winners must bring their own trailer and a way to winch the vehicles onto the trailer. See the HFD Facebook page for more information.

October Rib Sale, Oct. 10 & 11: The last rib sale of the season is Friday and Saturday, Oct. 10 & 11, Columbus Day weekend. Ribs will be available for pickup after noon both days.  We'll be smoking two cookings of 120 racks both days. Gun raffle tickets will also be available--$5 each or 5 for $20. Contact any firefighter to purchase. Drawing will be Oct. 31 at the annual Harvest Festival.

Aug. 21:  Rescue 31 is now in service. It's our new four-wheel-drive 4x4 fire suppression vehicle with a 300-gallon tank and 12 gallons of foam with our new battery-powered extrication equipment. Although it's a 2012, this Ford had very few miles on it. Our team did all the work in-house to transform it into Rescue 31. We'll use it for motor vehicle accidents, brush fires, and select structural fires where our regular-sized engines can't get to.

2022

November Commissioners Meeting Change: November's monthly commissioners meeting will be held Nov. 15 at 6:30 p.m. at the fire station due to Election Day on Nov. 8.

​

Rib Sale: The Columbus Day Weekend Rib Sale is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, Oct. 7 and 8. There will be one cooking each day of 100 ribs. Ribs will be available for pick-up after 3:30 p.m. on Friday and after 1 p.m. on Saturday. Cost: $22 a rack. Side dishes from Susan's of baked beans, coleslaw and potato salad will also be available at $4 a pint.

Sept. 8, 2022:  Holt Fire District signed a contract with Townes+ Architects, P.A., from Pensacola, to design the new fire station. Plans should be completed by early spring 2023.

​

April 12, 2022:  137 calls to date.

March 24, 2022:  114 calls to date.

Feb. 2, 2022:  The Holt Fire District Board of Commissioners are seeking proposals for qualified architectural services to provide a building design plan to be used in the construction of a new fire station at approximately 620 Hwy 90 W in Holt, Florida. All timelines, expectations and requirements are in the proposal. Deadline is March 8, 5 p.m.
